Breed Profile

The American Bully is massive and athletic-looking. Although it looks extremely threatening, it has a cheerful and friendly disposition. American Bullies are 13 to 20 inches tall. Weight distribution is broad and there is no maximum. Healthy adults tend to be big in size.

Temperament

The American Bully encounters no difficulties adapting to its new environment. Whilst at home it often acts as a laid back companion dog in its home environment, outside, it often exudes a zest for life and energy. Many dogs, despite acting as lap dogs in the home, excel in sports such as weight pull and flirt pole.

Living Environment

This is an obedient dog that loves pleasing its owner. Great with children and strongly protect of its family. The American Bully is confident, strong, and hard-working and requires to be taken out for long daily walks or for its daily dose of exercise. If these conditions are satisfied this dog can live indoors.

Health

Health problems vary within the breed,  though hip and elbow scoring are the most frequently encountered. Cherry eye, ectropion and entropion are often seen affecting the eyes, while Brachycephalic Respiratory Syndrome can be seen in the shorter muzzled dogs.
