Temperament

Its temperament is akin to that of most livestock guarding dogs. Whilst it is calm when things are normal, but, amidst trouble, the dog will fearlessly defend its territory. It was bred to think and act independently and make decisions on its own.

Color & Coat

Coat: Its hallmark coat is double, consisting of a dense wooly undercoat and a coarser outer coat that is wavy or curly. The undercoat is trapped in the outer coat so that it forms strong, felty, tassel-like cords. This coat helped guard the dog danger emanating from tough adversaries. It also helped the dog to blend in with its flock.
