Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Breed Profile
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was created in the region of Staffordshire, England, in the nineteenth century from crosses between Bulldogs and various local terriers akin to the Manchester Terrier. The Staffordshire Bull was created for the then-popular sport of bull baiting. The early bull and terrier dogs were created as a result of breeding for a characteristic known as gameness.
