Tibetan Spaniel
Breed Profile
Small monastery dogs believed to be early representatives of the Tibetan Spaniel , faithfully followed their Lama masters and came to be regarded as “little Lions” due to their resemblance to the Chinese guardian lions, which in turn conferred them prestige. The Tibetan spaniel is a breed of assertive, small, smart dogs hailing from over 2,500 years ago in the Himalayan mountains of Tibet. They share ancestry with the Pekingese, Japanese Chin, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Tibetan Terrier and Pug.
